Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress, best known for her roles in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. She was struggling to make ends meet and was offered her first acting role in Rachel's Room's lead character. The actress was able to secure an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford, the role she played in Lost from 2004 to 2005 was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. Grace has been in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace returned to Shannon's character as Shannon in Lost for two more episodes. This included the series final. In 2013 she appears in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith as a female groupie as well as a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan, she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in films starring her father as an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also in Donnie Darko (2000). She then appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and in the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. After several commercially successful films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). As an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The most recent roles include the protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
